Upon arrival in Sri Lanka, you will be warmly welcomed by our Overa representative and guide. They will escort you to Negombo, a charming coastal town known for its wide sandy beaches and serene seaside atmosphere. Spend the rest of the day at leisure, relaxing and unwinding by the beach or exploring Negombo’s vibrant nightlife. Our guide will also take you to some of the town’s fascinating landmarks.

After breakfast, you will proceed to Anuradhapura, the ancient capital of Sri Lanka, renowned for its rich history and magnificent monuments. This sacred city, once home to one of the world’s most advanced civilizations, boasts towering pagodas reminiscent of Egyptian pyramids. During your exploration, you will witness the awe-inspiring Aukana Buddha statue, the Thuparama Temple, and the intricate Isurumuniya rock carvings, each reflecting the grandeur of this ancient kingdom.

After breakfast, you will visit the Ancient City of Polonnaruwa, the medieval capital of Sri Lanka from the 11th century AD. This historic city rose to prominence after the decline of Anuradhapura and is home to remarkable ruins, including the massive Parakrama Samudra reservoir, the King’s Council Chamber, and the Royal Citadel.

In the afternoon, prepare for an unforgettable wildlife experience as you embark on a jeep safari in Minneriya National Park, one of Sri Lanka’s most famous wildlife destinations. Capture breathtaking moments as you observe elephants and other wildlife in their natural habitat against the stunning backdrop of the lush wilderness.

After breakfast, you will proceed to Sigiriya, home to the iconic Sigiriya Rock Fortress, one of the most remarkable wonders of the ancient world. This magnificent rock formation, towering above the surrounding plains, was built in the 5th century AD by King Kasyapa as both a royal palace and a fortress.

The climb to the top is a thrilling challenge, taking approximately 90 minutes. Along the way, you will pass key highlights such as the Mirror Wall, the world-famous Sigiriya Frescoes, and the grand entrance of the Lion Gate. The well-preserved ruins offer a fascinating glimpse into the ingenuity and architectural brilliance of ancient Sri Lanka, making Sigiriya the best-preserved city center from the first millennium in Asia.

In the evening, you can relax at the hotel or opt for an authentic village tour to experience the rural charm of Sigiriya.

After breakfast, you will proceed to Kandy, stopping en route at Dambulla, a city rich in ancient heritage and part of Sri Lanka’s renowned Cultural Triangle. The Dambulla Golden Cave Temple Complex, dating back to the 3rd century B.C., is one of the country’s most well-preserved historical sites. The temple, perched on a 160-foot-high rock, features five main caves adorned with intricate paintings and statues depicting the life of Lord Buddha.

Upon arrival in Kandy, you will explore the cultural capital of Sri Lanka, nestled in the scenic hill country. Kandy is home to the sacred Temple of the Tooth Relic (Dalada Maligawa), which houses one of the most revered Buddhist relics. The city is also known for its picturesque landscapes, ancient temples, and vibrant traditions. If interested, you can visit the Peradeniya Botanical Gardens, renowned for its stunning flora. After breakfast, you will proceed to Colombo, stopping en route at the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage. This sanctuary, located near Kandy, offers a unique opportunity to witness rescued elephants being fed and bathed, providing an unforgettable experience with these gentle giants.

Upon arrival in Colombo, you will explore Sri Lanka’s vibrant commercial capital, a dynamic city that seamlessly blends colonial charm with modern urban life. The historic Fort area, originally built by the Dutch, is now a bustling business district filled with architectural landmarks. Colombo also boasts a diverse culinary scene, lively nightlife, and some of South Asia’s largest casinos, along with numerous pubs and nightclubs.
